An Open Clinical Trial on the effectiveness of Aclatonium napadisilate (Aclaton^(¢ç)) in the Functional Gastrointestinal Disorder


Abstract
The purpose of this study is to assess the clinical therapeutic effectiveness and side effects of Aclatonium napadisilate in the digestive disorder in Korea.
Thirty-eight patients suffering from the functional gastrointestinal disorder participat d in an open clinical trial at the out-patient clinic of Kyung Hee University Hospital. 0 e (25mg) or two capsules (5Omg) of Aclatonium napadisilate was given orally 30 minutes before meal 3 times a day for 2~4 wks.
The effectiveness was assessed by the subjective decision in 4 different levels; excellent, good, fair and not effective, and the cases with excellent or good responses to the dr were scored as effective.
Good to excellent improvement was obtained in 78.9% of the patients. Especially, epiastric sense of discomfort, nausea, abdominal bloating and belching were significant improved in more than 85% of the cases.
As the untoward side reaction, only one case of abdominal pain was observed. Ho ev the symptom was not severe enough to discontinue the medication.
In conclusion, Aclatonium napadisilate appears to be effective and safe for the treatme of patients with the functional gastrointestinal disorder.
